Renée
Peterson Trudeau is the president of Renée Trudeau & Associates
and the author of The Mother's Guide to Self-Renewal: How to Reclaim, Rejuvenate and Re-Balance Your Life and the co-author of Courageous Parents, Confident Kids: Letting Go So You Both Can Grow. She is currently working on her third title.
Raised by an artist/musician/nurse mother and physician father,
Renée is the oldest of seven children. Born in 1966 in Houston,
Texas, she grew up in San Antonio, where she attended Montessori school,
and the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California, where she was enrolled in
a Waldorf-based yoga school based on the teaching of Paramahansa Yogananda. Here she rode horses, hiked in the deep snow near
the Donner Pass, and learned stained glass window-making and philosophy
from the Bhagavad-Gita.
Renée's parents were "truth seekers" from as far back as she can
remember. This is clearly evidenced by her siblings'
names, which range from Teresa to Shiva. Her parents' spiritual quest and desire to experience the Divine, had a huge impact on her upbringing and sense of self.
In the 1990s, Renée tragically lost her nineteen-year-old brother to suicide and her fifty-five year old father to a heart attack. Her mother passed suddenly from flu-induced congestive heart failure in 2000.
These losses had a profound impact on Renée's life and career
path, and left her with a sense of urgency and a desire to help others
find and express their life purpose and live the life they desire. The
deaths also impressed upon her the importance of community and connection
with others and left her with the unforgettable sense that “the time is now!”
In addition to being president of Renee Trudeau & Associates, Renée is a sought-after life balance speaker and is founder of Austin-based Career Strategists, a nationally-recognized career coaching and consulting firm dedicated to helping professionals and entrepreneurs integrate who they are with what they do.
She and her team have helped thousands of professionals throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe strategically manage their careers while maximizing job satisfaction, learn how to create and promote their personal brands, put together plans for career change, develop and launch small businesses that support their life goals, invent ways to promote work life balance that energize rather than drain them and learn how to enhance their overall sense of equilibrium and well-being.
